About
Hi, I’m oak
I’m also Tim O’Connor, a designer with AgencyND at the University of Notre Dame and a freelance designer from South Bend, IN. Everyone calls me oak.
Why?
It’s tempting to make up something really off-the wall here, but really, “oak” is just short for “O’Connor.” Sorry to disappoint.
So what do you do oak?
I am, like I said, a designer. I’m a 2002 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a background in print. A few years ago, I added web design to the stable of marketable skills. In my spare time I do freelance design work, and in the brief moments between eating, sleeping and my previously mentioned spare time, I teach a Creative Suite tutorial through Notre Dame’s Department of Art, Art History and Design.
If you’re interested in seeing samples of my work, you can check out the ATCO gallery here. I also have a more general portfolio of my work on Flickr. If you’re interested in my work history, please check out my LinkedIn profile.
I like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
About a Tim Called oAk
This is my site, and thank you for stumbling upon it. The front page is my design blog, and it’s my intention to keep it as focused as possible. Any success I have in this regard will probably be limited, but my tumblog is part of my attempt to keep the ATCO blog on topic. So … just so we’re clear: ATCO = Design, Tumblr = Everything Else.
What I’m trying to Accomplish
I’d like to be a great designer when I grow up. I’d like to think that blogging will help me stay focused on that goal.
